Madhya Pradesh: Tehsildar gets angry after complaining about not getting ration, couple accused of assault

Angered by the complaint on CM helpline, Tehsildar misbehaved with the woman, the victim couple complained to the police.

Bhopal. In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, the couple, upset over not getting ration from the government shop, had reached the tehsil office with a complaint. But a dispute broke out between the Tehsildar of Shahpura and the complainant couple. The couple has accused the Tehsildar of assault and threatening them. The victim woman says that the Tehsildar slapped her, also broke her mobile by throwing it on the ground and also beat her husband.
According to the information, the woman resident of Ramkhiriya village was making rounds for a month to get a ration card made. The woman had also complained about this on the CM helpline. The woman told that the tehsil employees were pressurizing her to withdraw the complaint. On Friday, the couple had reached the Tehsildar’s office with a complaint about the ration card, and when the couple asked the Tehsildar Ravindra Patel to make the ration card, he got angry.
Victim Pooja Burman told that her family does not have a ration card. For this reason he was not getting ration from the government shop. Therefore, the form was filled and submitted through the village sarpanch and secretary. Despite this the ration card was not made. Pooja reached the Tehsil office regarding this, where she was assured of making the ration card soon. But even after more than a month the card was not made.

Pooja said, “On Friday too, we had reached the tehsil with both the children and went to the cabin of Tehsildar Ravindra Patel to complain. We asked the Tehsildar that we have been running around for a month. We have neither a house nor a land, after this They are also not making ration cards.”
“On hearing this, the tehsildar got furious. He closed the door of the cabin and beat my husband fiercely. When I went to save my husband, he caught hold of my hand. He snatched my mobile and threw it away. In the meantime, I got scratched on my hand. His Babu was sitting near Tehsildar Sahib. He said, ‘Sir, throw the mobile in the water’, after which he threw the mobile in the water”, Pooja alleged.
Villagers demonstrated at tehsil
When information about this incident came to the village, the people of the village gathered in the Tehsil office. Here they started raising slogans against Tehsildar Ravindra Patel. On information, Shahpura police station reached the spot. The victim couple was taken to the police station to lodge a complaint. Here the police took the complaint application. SI Deepu Singh says that information about the incident has been given to senior officers. The woman told that she had been making rounds for several days for a ration card, but the ration card was not made, on the contrary the Tehsildar beat her up.
Complaint to SP
The victim couple also went to the Superintendent of Police office on Saturday and complained. Pooja told the entire incident to the ASP, after which the police ordered an investigation. Here, accused Tehsildar Ravindra Patel has denied the allegations. He says he does not know the couple.
Complaint was lodged in CM helpline
The victim couple had applied 4 years ago but the ration card was not made, just a month ago they applied again through the Sarpanch but even then their ration card was not made, so they had lodged a complaint on the CM helpline. After this the Patwari was pressurizing him to withdraw the complaint. The victim couple alleges that due to this complaint, the Tehsildar became angry with them, and upon reaching the office, Tehsildar Ravindra Patel assaulted both of them.
While talking to the representative of The Mooknayak, Jabalpur’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Suryakant Sharma said that after receiving the written complaint regarding this matter, Shahpura police station in-charge has been instructed to investigate. Will take action after investigation.
