Let us tell you that the woman had given birth to a baby girl in the same hospital due to whose negligence the woman died.
The girl got life, the mother got death:
The incident took place in a private hospital named Aastha Hospital located in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, where a pregnant woman Sandhya had come for her delivery. First the doctors said that normal delivery would not be possible and an operation would have to be done and then during the operation, the doctors closed the uterus as well as the woman’s urinary tract by placing stitches on it. After which the woman stopped urinating. After suffering from this problem for about a week, when the woman was taken back to the hospital, it was found that along with the uterus, the woman’s urine pipe had also been stitched due to which the woman’s kidneys got damaged. After coming to know about the whole matter, the hospital staff washed their hands of their actions and advised to take the woman to Gorakhpur. Doctors in Gorakhpur said that the woman’s kidneys had been damaged. Besides, child Dani also got infected. The woman died at her home after two months of treatment. Let us tell you that the woman had given birth to a baby girl in Aastha Hospital where this irresponsible act was done.
The hospital was not allowed to conduct delivery:
According to the information, on March 18 itself, the family members complained to the CMO and IGRS about stitching of the urine pipe by the hospital. Was registered on the portal. Investigation found that Aastha Hospital of Deoria had only OPD and IPD registration. This hospital could not admit patients nor was this hospital allowed to perform operations. According to media reports, the health department officials have canceled the license of the said hospital. Also, within three days the doctors were asked to present at the CMO office with all the documents related to the affected patient. But the doctor did not reach the CMO office and the health department also remained idle.
This is not the first case of patient’s death due to negligence:
Let us tell you that this is not the first case of death of a patient due to negligence of doctors in this private hospital of Deoria. According to Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, MOIC of Pathardeva CHC, Aastha Hospital was earlier named “Maya” Hospital, where a patient had died earlier also due to negligence. After this, the hospital people changed the name to Aastha and started operating it again. This is a private hospital which has only OPD and IPD registration. That means this hospital can neither admit patients nor perform operations. But despite this, the lives of serious patients are being played with. However, the hospital was sealed on Wednesday 27 March. But be it CMO Dr. Rajesh Jha or Deputy CMO or Investigating Officer Dr. RP Yadav, all the officers are maintaining silence on the entire matter.
What action was taken in the case:
According to the victim’s family, Sandhya, daughter-in-law of Ram Sagar Patel, resident of Baghauchghat village Mundera, was pregnant. On January 19, 2023, he started having stomach pain, after which he was taken to Aastha Hospital in Pathardeva town. Where the doctors told that normal delivery would not be possible and operation would have to be done. A baby girl was born through the operation but after the operation Sandhya’s health started deteriorating. The investigation revealed that the urinary tract along with the uterus was blocked. After selling the land, the daughter-in-law was treated for three months but in the end, due to the negligence of the doctors, Sandhya lost her life. However, a case was registered against the hospital director Prem Narayan Singh under Medical Council Act 15(3),419,420,174 on the complaint of Dr. Prabhat Ranjan at Tarkulwa police station. The hospital was also sealed but the doctor did not reach the CMO office with the papers, while senior officials also maintained silence on the matter.
