Dalit student in BHU received beatings, abuses and death threats after unnatural rape

Posted on March 31, 2024 by Dalit Times

In BHU, an incident has come to light where a Sociology student was forced to remove his pants, attempted unnatural rape, assaulted, abused and threatened to kill.

Banaras News: A case of attempted unnatural rape and assault on a Dalit student has come to light in BHU’s Rajaram hostel on March 31. As soon as the news came out, there was a stir in the entire university including the hostel.

According to the information, a student of Sociology MA final year living in Rajaram Hostel of Kashi Hindu University has accused a student of Rajaram Hostel of trying to forcibly commit unnatural rape on the morning of 31st March. The student alleges that on the night of 30-31 March, at 02:45 am, when he was studying, there was a sudden power failure in a lobby of Rajaram Hostel. He had gone to check the MCB of the electricity board of the hostel, because the power supply of the hostel was not working. There was electricity in the other lobbies. The electricity board of the hostel is located under the staircase, where it was completely dark. As soon as the said student bent down to check the MCB, a student of MPMIR from Rajaram Hostel grabbed him from behind and started forcibly opening the student’s lower.

When the student protested, the accused pushed his head against the wall and again forcibly opened his pants and started abusing him. When the victim student somehow freed himself from the clutches of the accused and ran away, the accused chased the victim student and reached his room and again abused his mother and sister and tried to forcefully open his pants and put his hands on him. When the student protested strongly, he was injured by slaps and punches and also snatched the victim’s phone and kept him captive in the room for half an hour.

According to the information, later someone informed about this incident to the hostel warden and the Proctorial Board, then the team of the Proctorial Board reached Rajaram Hostel at 4 am in the morning, freed the said student and took the injured student to the Trauma Center for medical and Got treatment. The chief warden of the hostel himself visited the trauma center to meet the victim student and consoled the student.

The victim student was badly frightened after this incident happened to him. The victim student has filed a complaint in Lanka police station to register an FIR, but the FIR has not been registered yet. The frustrated and frightened student is considering leaving Kashi Hindu University if appropriate action is not taken.
