Two girls have been missing for four days in Banke.
13-year-old Bandana Bik and 11-year-old Nisha Pariyar of Kusum Bairia of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-1 have not been contacted for four days, the family has lodged a complaint with the police.
Police Assistant Inspector Tek Bahadur KC said that three days after their disappearance, Bandana’s mother filed a complaint at the local police office, Kusum.
According to KC, on the evening of October 4, Nisha invited Bandana to her house for dinner. They are relatives and friends. KC said that even though they had cooked dal, they were found uneaten.
Bhim Bahadur Damai, Nisha’s maternal grandfather, said that on that day he went to Dangisharan rural municipality-1 Goltakuri on a special job and when he returned home on the evening of October 5, he did not see his granddaughter at home.
‘I didn’t see my granddaughter when I came home,’ he said, ‘I looked at the house. The dal they cooked was the same. Where did he go without even eating!’
According to Bhim Bahadur, Nisha is his Miley daughter’s daughter.
According to police sources, the mothers of both the girls got married for the second time and moved elsewhere. It is revealed that both of their fathers are in India for work. Nisha Mavali was living with her paternal grandfather and Bandana Sania with maternal grandmother.
Nisha was studying in Class 4 and Bandana 3 of the local Kusumeshwar Madhyamik School. On that day, Nisha called Bandana to have dinner and sleep saying that she was alone at home.
According to KC, they used to support themselves by selling water and corn at the Kusum market on East West Highway.
‘One day they used to go to school and one day they used to sell water and corn on the street,’ said Ishwari Chapagain, a neighbor, ‘where did they suddenly disappear?’
Bandana had reached Pokhara last year with her mother-in-law while looking for work. Casey said that she returned from working there with her mother.
“We have continued the search after receiving the information that two girls are missing,” KC said. “We have asked all units to search for their photos.”
Casey said that even though they had taken their hulia and sent it to the top, they have not been able to find it yet. Chief DSP Ain Bahadur Malla of the area police office Kohalpur said that they went to sleep at their uncle’s house.
District Police Chief Superintendent of Police (SP) Shyamakrishna Adhikari said that the girl was not reported missing and even if it was reported, she might have come to a lower unit.
