The fight for justice came on the road, family members and people of the society set out on a 160 km foot march
The dead body of a Dalit youth kept in the mortuary of Moulasar Government Hospital in Nagaur district of Rajasthan for six days, relatives refused to perform the last rites, marching to demand the arrest of the accused.
Jaipur. In Khakholi village of Moulasar police station area of Nagaur in Rajasthan, a Dalit youth, who was working as the president of a gaushala, allegedly embraced death after being fed up with the harassment of some members of the committee. The body of the deceased has been kept in the mortuary of the Government Hospital, Moulasar for the last six days. The family members are adamant on cremating the dead body after the arrest of the accused named in the case. Here, the police have not been able to arrest the accused so far, due to which the angry family members and people of the society have traveled towards Jaipur on foot. After traveling about 160 km, he will go to Jaipur and meet the Chief Minister and demand the arrest of the accused.
Bhim Army State President Ravi Kumar Meghwal told The Mooknayak that, “A person of Dalit society was serving the responsibility of the post of president in Gaushala for the last 9 months. Some people could not even digest cow service by Dalits. Sometimes on the pretext of accounting and sometimes on some other pretext, Girdhari Ram has been tortured and forced to commit suicide. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the hospital since 6 days. We are making only one demand that the accused named in the case be arrested. But the police are not arresting the accused as they are getting political patronage. The body has been kept in Moulasar’s hospital.”
“We will travel 160 km to Jaipur with family members. Will tell the pain after meeting the Chief Minister. Bhim Army State President Ravikumar Meghwal along with founder Anil Tidiya, Gigraj Jodli from Constitutional Forum, Manjit Pal Singh, Sushil Meghwal, Gopal Parmar, Harish Mehrada, Bhim Army District President Rajuram Chandbasani, Meghwal Samaj President Raghunath Prasad Meghwal and members of Dalit society. Dozens of people are walking.” They said.
The funeral procession of CM and MLA, burnt effigy
The people of the Sangharsh Samiti took out a symbolic funeral procession of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the local MLA on Thursday. After this the effigy was also burnt. Significantly, the people of Meghwal community are demanding the arrest of all the six accused written in the suicide note in the suicide case of the Gaushala President Girdhari Ram of Khakholi.

Regarding the incident, Jagdish Ram Meghwal resident of the deceased, Khakholi, presented a report at Moulasar police station on October 3 alleging that the applicant’s brother Girdhari Ram Meghwal was working in the Gaushala of Khakholi village for the last 9 months. Was working on the post of President in the executive committee of Gaushala. For the last 2 months, the people of the village, including Chunaram Contractor son Hariram, Shyamaram Sharma son Noparam, Mahendra Koth son Chhoturam Jat, Hanuman son Bhagirath Ram, Prithviram Bawri son Gordhanram, Shivraj son Motiram Bhakar, together all this together mentally tortured the brother of the applicant. Was doing. There were casteist abuses and threats to kill. Were doing voluntarily in the Gaushala, due to which the brother of the applicant, being hurt, committed suicide by writing all the details in the suicide note.
Though the police have registered a case, but have not arrested the accused.
The Mooknayak was told by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Didwana, Gomaram that, “No arrest has been made so far in the death of the gaushala president. The family is yet to get the post-mortem done. The investigation will proceed only after the post-mortem.”
