Former Chhatra League leader arrested in case of attempted murder of Chhatra League worker in Faridpur

Faridpur city Chhatra League former general secretary Sajeeb Ahmed (25) has been arrested by the police in the case of attempted murder of Chhatra League activist Saurabh Malo (24) in Faridpur.
He was arrested from Sovarampur area of the city on Wednesday afternoon.
Sajib Ahmed is a resident of Shovarampur area of Faridpur city. District Chhatra League dismissed him from the post of general secretary on March 15 this year.
Due to the internal conflict of District Chhatra League in Faridpur, Sourav Malo was stabbed and injured on the east side road of Government Rajendra College on September 18 at around 10 pm.
Saurabh Malo became the plaintiff in this incident and filed a case on September 20 on charges of attempted murder at Faridpur Kotyali police station. In that case, 11 people were named and 5-7 others were named as defendants. Accused number 5 of that case is Sajib Ahmed.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Sujan Biswas of Faridpur Kotyali Police Station, the investigating officer of the case, confirmed this information to The Daily Star.
He said, ‘Tomorrow Thursday, Sajib will be handed over to the court.’
Earlier, the accused Ashraful Hasan and Mostafizur Rahman were arrested by the police. Besides, Shubhra Sharma and Rudra have also been arrested as suspected accused in the investigation. But all of them are currently on bail.
