Basti Rape: A case of rape has come to light after a 20-year-old Dalit girl was assaulted in Basti, Uttar Pradesh. This incident of rape is from the village of Cantonment police station area. The victim’s father has lodged a complaint with the police station in this matter. The father told that on Monday evening his daughter had gone to graze the buffalo where a young man assaulted her and committed the rape. The police have started investigating the matter by registering a case in this case.
Dalit girl assaulted and raped
The victim’s father has given a complaint to the police. He told that his daughter had gone behind the village’s Inter College to graze buffalo, when a young man riding a bike reached there. He first asked the girl about the buffalo and went ahead. After this he returned once again and beat up the girl and raped her. Thereafter the accused fled from the spot. The victim somehow reached her home, where she informed the family about the incident that happened to her. The girl has suffered several serious injuries.
Case filed on father’s complaint
The family members of the victim hurriedly took her to the district hospital for treatment, where after first aid, in view of her serious condition, doctors have referred her to BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur. where he is being treated. On the information of the incident, SP Ashish Srivastava, Additional SP, Circle Officer Harraiya, Police Station Officer, Cantonment and forensic team reached the spot and started investigation.
Giving information about this incident, Superintendent of Police Basti Ashish Srivastava said that a case of rape has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s father. Police is probing the matter. Soon the absconding accused will be identified and arrested and strict action will be taken.
