Ambedkar Nagar: Lathi-charged on the mob that was furious over the land of Ambedkar Park, women were also run and beaten
The crowd became furious on the second day over the Ambedkar Park land, which led to a fierce ruckus. When the miscreants pelted stones, the police used sticks to disperse the crowd.

On Sunday, citizens created a ruckus by blocking the road in Wajidpur over the Ambedkar Park land. Along with beating a woman constable, the mob damaged the Tehsildar’s vehicle by pelting stones. In this stone pelting, apart from the driver of the Tehsildar, six other constables were also injured.
The police used force to disperse the crowd, as well as running and thrashing the women who were rioting, in which many women were injured. Seeing the commotion increasing, the shops on Akbarpur Marg were closed in a big way. In view of the tension, heavy police and PAC have been deployed at Wajidpur and Jamalpur intersections.
There was a ruckus on Sunday over the land of Ambedkar Park located opposite the Elephant Park in Wajidpur of Kotwali area Jalalpur. A day earlier, there was a controversy regarding the sooting of grandsons on the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar. The administration had pacified the matter by registering a case by clearing the soot.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, on the instructions of the DM, the municipality and revenue team reached the spot to build a boundary wall on Ambedkar Park. After the measurement of the land, the excavation of the foundation started with JCB. Meanwhile, dozens of women and men, who reached there, blocked the Akbarpur-Jalalpur main road, creating a ruckus, alleging that less land was given for the park. In a short while the Jalalpur police team reached the spot.
It is alleged that the women who were blocking the road grabbed a teenager who was trying to move forward and started beating. When constable Preeti Singh protested, the agitated women beat her up. On this, the policemen chased them using force. People who were blocking the road moved away from here and reached Jamalpur intersection located a short distance away. The vehicle of Tehsildar Jalalpur standing there was damaged by pelting stones. Due to this, the driver Mahendra also suffered injuries.
Several passers-by and other vehicles were also pelted with stones. On this, the police team reached here and chased the miscreants. After this, under the leadership of SDM Harishankar Lal and Tehsildar Dharmendra Kumar, police teams of several police stations patrolled the area on foot and assured the people of safety.
Seeing the commotion increasing, the shops around Jamalpur intersection started closing rapidly. The shutters of the shops of Akbarpur Road also started falling down. To avoid being hit by the miscreants, the shopkeepers closed their shops and withdrew from there. In the shops where customers were present, it was removed earlier.
In the stone pelting and sabotage in the city, a case has been registered against 60 unknown persons under various sections on Sunday. The police have registered this case on the complaint of the Tehsildar’s driver. In this, the driver has mentioned about breaking all the windows of the government vehicle, injuring himself and six constables also getting injured and injured. Earlier on Saturday, the police have also registered a case against two hundred unknown people for blocking the road by these elements.
SP Ajit Kumar Sinha said that in Jalalpur, women and some people were intent on creating a nuisance, they were being beaten up and stone pelted, due to which the police normalized the situation by using mild force.
Kotwal Sant Kumar Singh of Jalalpur says that four women have been taken into custody on charges of commotion etc. The female constable was not beaten up, but indecisive. Women were also throwing stones. In this, the glass of the vehicle of the Tehsildar was broken. As soon as the complaint is received from the employees of the city council, a case will be registered because the dispute started regarding the construction being done by them.
