In Bhojpur, the ward president beat up an old man, refused to file a complaint with the police

Bhojpur. In Bhojpur, an old man was injured due to the beating of the ward chairman. Jiramani Rai, the ward president of Bhojpur Municipality-1, beat up 62-year-old Lok Bahadur Rai. Jiramani was elected from the Maoist Center.
Jiramani couple beat up Lok Bahadur for not paying 20,000 taken by their son Sugen Rai in Milldanda of Dandabokhim, Bhojpur-1. Lok Bahadur’s brother Machhindra Rai said that Rai and his wife Vrinda Rai were beaten together. Lok Bahadur said that they threatened to kill him.
Family sources said that Lok Bahadur’s left ear lobe was affected and he was bleeding from the head injury.
On Saturday, Lok Bahadur was referred to Bhojpur Hospital, saying that his condition was serious and that he should be taken to a place with facilities.
The victim said that the district police office, Bhojpur refused to take the complaint saying that they should come after the election. They accused the police of trying to escape the culprits under political pressure.
Chief of Police DSP Saroj Ghimire said that the matter of beating is being investigated and legal action will be taken against both sides.
