A student died after falling from the building of Dhaka University’s Jagannath Hall
Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital police outpost in-charge Bachchu Mia confirmed the death.
He said, ‘A student died after falling from the building of Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University. His name is Limon Kumar Roy (20)’.
Liman Kumar Roy is a resident of Rangpur district and a student of DU’s Institute of Education and Research (IER) department for the academic year 2019-2020. He is a resident student of room number 4021 of Santosh Chandra Bhattacharya Bhawan, Jagannath Hall.
According to hall sources, the student fell down from the 10th floor of Santosh Chandra Bhattacharya Bhawan of the hall around 10 am on Wednesday (November 23). Later some students took him to DMK Hospital. There the doctor declared him dead.
In this context, Jagannath Hall Provost Professor Dr. Mihir Lal Saha said, ‘A student named Limon fell from the Santosh Chandra Bhattacharya building around 10 am. Hearing the noise, the students of the hall rushed him to the hospital.
However, it was not confirmed whether Limon fell from the 10th floor or committed suicide by jumping.
