Uttar Pradesh: Government nurse’s negligence in delivery of pregnant Dalit woman in Jalaun, child dies

What is the whole incident:
The complaint letter written by the victim to the police is being shared on social media. In which the victim says that his wife Jyoti was to be delivered in the month of November. Went to Community Health Center on November 1 for delivery but the nurse there, Vidya Devi Niranjan, said that she does delivery at her home, there are all facilities.
There is lack of facilities in the health center. For this she will charge 5 thousand rupees. The victim trusted the nurse and gave her 5 thousand and also took his wife to her house. Where the nurse showed carelessness on the pregnant woman’s stomach and created unnecessary pressure and the child’s hand came out, after which the nurse said that she would have to be taken somewhere else soon.
Woman’s life barely saved:
According to the victim, on the advice of the nurse, he took his wife to Kavya Hospital in Orai, where after a checkup, the doctor told that the child had died in the uterus itself. An operation will have to be done to remove the dead child from the stomach. Operation was done and the dead child was taken out. Meanwhile, the Dalit woman’s life was saved. The woman had to stay admitted in the hospital for 4 days. On the other hand, when the victim went to the nurse’s house and told about wrong delivery, the nurse started threatening to kill the victim by abusing her casteist.
However, taking cognizance of the matter, the Jalaun police has instructed Inspector-in-charge Konch to take necessary action. But such an incident in the government health center of Uttar Pradesh shows that neither there is any benefit of government schemes for Dalits and the poor nor the cost of their lives.
