Minor Dalit girl gangraped in car

Patiala: An 11-year-old dalit girl was allegedly abducted and gangraped in a moving car by two accused in Patiala district on Saturday night.
The police have arrested the two accused, who hail from the same village as the rape survivor. Police revealed that both the accused committed the crime after drinking alcohol.
The police said the accused are aged around 30. The survivor has since been admitted to Government Rajindra Hospital for treatment. A case under sections of gangrape, abduction, criminal intimidation of Indian Penal Code and under sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act has been registered against the accused on the complaint of rape survivor’s father.
The rape survivor was abducted from a spot where ‘Jaago’ (a before marriage occasion) was being celebrated and both the accused and rape survivor had attended the event.
“The accused allegedly abducted the girl and raped her turn wise in a moving car. We immediately took action after getting the information about the crime and within a short time, both the accused were nabbed. Both the accused are married. Further investigation is being carried out and revelation of important information is expected after the accused are interrogated. Both accused will be produced before the court for police remand,” said SHO Sadar Patiala, HS Dhillon.
