Government is spending crores of rupees for Dalit Bandhu Yojana in Telangana but Dalits are not getting the benefit
Household expenses running as a delivery boy:
Let us tell you that Kankurti Sai Prasad belongs to the Dalit community. Kankurti wrote in the letter describing the condition of his family that his father had died. He lives with his old mother and a sister in a rented house and the responsibility of her sister’s marriage is also on him. The Dalit youth says that he neither has a house nor a job and in such a situation he is not even getting the benefit of the government scheme. Sometimes working as a delivery boy in Ropido and sometimes in Zomato, he is earning his living.
What is Dalit Bandhu Grant Scheme:
The KCR government of Telangana had started the Dalit Bandhu Grant Scheme in the year 2021. This scheme was started as a social welfare scheme with the objective of helping the Dalit families. According to the government, through this, Dalit entrepreneurship will be encouraged in the state and a direct benefit of Rs 10 lakh per family will be given to all those people who do not have bank guarantee to set up business. It is not a loan of any kind, so there is no need to repay it. There will be no middleman in this transaction either. Beneficiaries will be able to take its amount directly in their bank accounts.
Benefits of schemes not reaching the beneficiary:
For information, let us tell you that today i.e. on February 6, Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao has presented the budget for 2023-24 in the Telangana Legislative Assembly. This time, for the development works of Telangana, the government spent Rs 2,90,396 crore. In which Rs 17,700 crore has been allocated for the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
But even after the applications of Dalit youth Kankurti Sai Prasad for the last 4 months, he is not getting any benefit of the scheme. Any scheme is of no value unless it reaches the right beneficiary. Don’t know how many people are like Kankurti Sai Prasad who are not able to take advantage of the schemes even though they are eligible.
