The incident took place during the famous festival of Uttarakhand, Fuldei, when some upper castes stopped Dalit girl students from going to the Shiva temple. According to the report of Hindustan, the incident took place on March 15, when some upper caste youths stopped seven-eight minor girl students belonging to Dalit class from entering the Shiv temple of Malauj village in Someshwar of Almora district. After this, on the complaint of Dalit girl students, the police registered a case and started investigation. On the matter, the police say that “the peace system of the district will not be allowed to be disturbed under any circumstances.”
Insult done in the temple:
According to the report, on the day of the festival of flowers in the Shiv temple of Someshwar in Almora district, the local Kishor Singh Adhikari and Soban Singh did not allow Dalit girl students to enter the temple, calling them Dalits. Dalit girl students had gone to the local Shiva temple for darshan on the festival of Phooldei. On the complaint of the girl students, the police have registered a case against two upper caste youths of the village, Kishore Singh Adhikari and Soban Singh. The investigation of the case has been handed over to CO Ranikhet.
Uproar in the village:
According to the information, after this incident, there was an uproar in the area, after which the girl students submitted a complaint to the Someshwar police station regarding the matter. The police have registered a case under the SC-ST Act against Kishore Singh and Soban Singh for preventing Dalit girl students from entering the temple. The inspection of the matter is going on.
