Rajasthan: ‘Jai Bhim’ written on bike, Dalit youth beaten up by angry upper castes

The victim had come from Jodhpur with his nephew to meet his maternal uncle in Jaisalmer’s Nachana police station area, the incident happened with him.

Jaipur. Everyday new cases of dalit atrocities are coming to the fore in Rajasthan. The latest case has come to light from Jaisalmer’s Nachana police station area. Where two people belonging to the Scheduled Castes were beaten up because Jai Bheem was written on their motorcycle. Not only this, after the fight, the accused threatened to burn the houses of relatives in the village if they complained to the police and told anyone in the village.
The accused even said that remove Bhim written on the motorcycle. After this, if they are seen again in this area, they will not let them go back alive. After the incident, the victim has given an FIR named against four people in the Nachana police station. The police have also registered a case, but have not yet initiated action. When The Mooknayak questioned the concerned police station about the action taken, the police, saying that they were busy with the duty of Hanuman Jayanti, said that no arrest has been made yet.

The victim, Panaram s/o Tajaram Meghwal, resident of Raneti Tehsil Baap, district Jodhpur, gave a written complaint to the Nachana police station in Jaisalmer district on Wednesday last and said that he along with his nephew Dinaram s/o Bhomaram Meghwal had come to Tanotrai in Didhu between 5 to 5.30 pm on April 5. Had come to visit the temple of the goddess.
After offering offerings to the deity in the temple, the applicant Tanaram along with his nephew Dinaram Meghwal was going on a motorcycle to his maternal uncle’s place in Didhu’s Ek Dhani. During this, Tanerai Singh son of Arjun Singh resident of Bardana, Bhomsingh son of Khet Singh, Samdar Singh son of Kansingh, Hukam Singh son of Bherusingh resident of Didhu Thana Nachana came to Jaisalmer riding on two motorcycles from behind. The accused hurled caste-related slurs. The helmet hit his head and ear. Can’t hear it. During this, Ramnaram, son of Lachhamram, son of Ganapatram, Roopram, son of Sangaram, seeing the accused fighting there, saved them by holding the feet of the accused and folding hands, but these people did not agree.
“During this time, Jalam Singh’s son Kansingh came and said that if you complain in the police station or tell anyone in the village, your relatives living here will burn their houses. Remove Bhim written on your motorcycle. If you come to this village again, you will not be alive. Abusing the caste indicator said that we keep such a person in place of a shoe,” the victim said.
Nachna Police Incharge Ajit Singh told The Mooknayak that a report to this effect was filed late last night. The Circle Officer is investigating the case. Today is on duty for Hanuman Jayanti. Soon the investigation will be completed and the accused will be arrested.
