UP: Student leader murdered in Ballia, attacked at the college gate while leaving the exam
Two students, including a student leader associated with the Samajwadi Party, were attacked while leaving the main gate of a degree college in Kotwali area of Ballia city.

Lucknow. Last Tuesday, a student leader was attacked and killed with sticks in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district. The student leader belonged to the student wing of the Samajwadi Party. Two people, including a student leader, were attacked when they were passing through the main gate of a degree college in Kotwali area of the city. After the attack, a student leader died on the spot.
According to the police, Hemant Yadav (23) and Alok Yadav (20) were attacked with sticks on Tuesday from the gate of Satish Chandra Mahavidyalaya of Kotwali area of Ballia city. Both the students were seriously injured in the attack, who were taken to the district hospital for treatment. He told that the doctors referred both the students to Varanasi due to their critical condition, but Hemant Yadav died on the way while being taken to Varanasi. Senior police officers reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Durga Prasad Tiwari told that the attack was carried out due to old enmity. The police is investigating the case
He told that four teams have been formed to arrest the attackers in this case and Varun Rakesh, in-charge of Japlinganj police station has been suspended. SP’s district media in-charge Sushil Pandey told that Hemant Yadav was a student leader of Satish Chandra Mahavidyalaya, associated with the party. SP spokesperson Manoj Kaka has alleged in a tweet that Hemant Yadav, a student leader who was passing out from Satish Chandra Mahavidyalaya, was brutally murdered by ‘government protected’ criminals. He said that “It is very appalling and sad and we all are deeply pained and demand strictest action against the culprits at the earliest.”
