It has been revealed that Hotel Sahu is involved in the murder of Vinod Thapa Magar of Galchi rural municipality-8 of Dhading. District Police Office Dhading Chief and Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra informed that 25-year-old Vinod, who had gone to have lunch at the hotel, was stabbed to death by Niraj Pandit of Sandar Hotel and Lodge.

‘The incident happened around 12 o’clock on Wednesday night. The incident took place when Vinod, who came to the hotel as a customer, and the hotel owner had a normal conversation. Magar, who was injured by a knife, died while being treated,’ SP Mishra said, ‘Niraj Pandit has been arrested on the charge of killing Vinod.’ Along with Niraj, the owner of the hotel, Saraswati Pandit, and four other people in the hotel were also detained, he said. After the family files a complaint regarding the murder, the process of action proceeds according to the law.’ 

After Vinod’s murder, the angry victims set fire to Sandar Hotel on Thursday morning. A bed in a hotel room was burnt when the agitators set it on fire. We controlled the fire and prevented further damage. The car of the hotel loaner has been vandalized,’ Mishra said.

Kamal Thapa Magar, who went with Vinod, informed that there was a general argument about the money from the meal at the hotel and when it turned violent, the incident of murder took place. ‘We went to Sandar Hotel for lunch. The lunch bill was 1100. When he gave 1500 and asked for 400 back, Saraswati Pandit, the hotel manager, said that 2300 was left,’ Kamal said, ‘Vinod did not have the previous balance, if he has, I will call my son instead of showing him the account.

According to him, by that time Vinod had said that Niraj, the son of Hotel Sahu, is a friend who studied with him. But, as soon as Niraj came, he grabbed me and pushed me beyond the table. Now I am also injured. When the mother showed Vinod that it was not Vinod, Niraj stabbed Vinod around the ribs with a knife, he said. Kamal said that Niraj pushed him again while trying to separate. ‘Neeraj took Vinod to the door and stabbed him again in the stomach with a knife. Due to the second stabbing, Vinod was seriously injured and fell on the road. Vinod was hit on the neck and head by riding a motorcycle on his legs and other parts. After saving as much as possible from Niraj, we brought them to Kathmandu for treatment through the health institution of Galchi. However, Vinod could not be saved,’ he said.
