Rajasthan: Pregnant woman dies due to negligence of doctors in Karauli

Jaipur. In Rajasthan’s Karauli district, a pregnant woman died due to the negligence of the medical staff. On the basis of the preliminary inquiry report of the five-member inquiry committee constituted under the leadership of SDM Sapotra, on the instructions of the district collector, after the complaint of the relatives, the compounder and an ANM, including the medical officer, have been made APOs.
Although the family is not satisfied with this step of the state government. The relatives say that punitive action should be taken against them by suspending all. At the same time, financial assistance should be made available to the family of the deceased. Relatives say that the husband of deceased Reso Devi Bairwa is suffering from silicosis. Reso Devi was taking care of the family by doing wages. There are 6 small children, in front of whom now along with filling their stomach, the crisis of getting education has arisen.

At the Government Community Health Center Karanpur in Karauli district, the time when Prasuta Reso Devi was suffering from pain. At that time the medical staff of the hospital was engrossed in a meat party on the roof of the building. The hearts of the gods of the earth who were engrossed in the party did not sweat even because of the painful groan of the pregnant woman. At last, the breathing cord of the pregnant woman broke.
Her sister-in-law Anshu Bairwa, who went with the pregnant woman to the hospital, has accused her of having a meat party on the roof of the hospital building at night. Anshu Bairwa says that on Monday, Devrani Reso Devi was taken to the government hospital in Karanpur due to labor pain. She herself also went along. She says that when Reso’s labor pain increased late in the evening, in a panic, the hospital staff reached the roof of the hospital, where the party was going on.
Anshu Bairwa said that when he told the problem to the medical staff on the terrace, they sent a compounder named Nathu Singh down. Nathu Singh got the delivery done. After that went back to the terrace at the party. He did not even give the necessary medicine to the pregnant woman. After some time, the health of the pregnant woman started deteriorating. Anshu Bairwa says that when she went to the terrace to call the compounder again, a party of meat and liquor was going on there. Within no time, the pregnant woman died. At this time it was about 9 o’clock in the night. He said that the staff members came down on our cries, but then his sister-in-law was dead.

Tampering with government records?
Local journalist Mukesh Gupta told The Mooknayak that the arbitrariness of the medical staff of Karanpur did not stop there. After the death of the woman, the next day on Tuesday, May 30, for the rescue, the medical staff cut off the name of another patient from the patient recruitment register and entered the name of the deceased Reso Bairwa at number 86 on May 29 itself. . Gupta says that first he was negligent, then to save himself, he doctored the government documents to show the patient was admitted in the back date. Whereas according to the rules, the maternity had to be admitted as soon as she arrived, but due to being busy in the party, the untrained compounder got the delivery done without recruitment. As a result, the pregnant woman lost her life. Journalist Mukesh Gupta said that punitive action is necessary against those who are negligent. So that no one else has to lose their life like Reso Devi.
The police had also reached, but the post-mortem did not happen.
After the death of the child, the relatives of the deceased had called Bablu Meena, Sarpanch representative of Nanpur Gram Panchayat, to the hospital at midnight. With the help of 108 ambulance, he got the healthy born newborn admitted to the new born hospital of Karauli district headquarter government hospital. As soon as the information about the death of the pregnant woman was received in the hospital, the local police also reached the spot. Meanwhile, the family took the dead body to their village without conducting the post-mortem at around one o’clock on Monday night and the last rites of the woman were performed on Tuesday.
Why was sent home in the morning before delivery
According to Srilal Bairwa, husband of the deceased Reso Devi, a resident of Nanpur, his wife had labor pain on Monday. Reached Karanpur CHC with his wife at 9.30 am. After getting the hemoglobin tested, the doctor also offered a bottle. After this, she was sent home saying that she would deliver after 5 days.
Srilal says that on the advice of the doctor, he reached home with his wife. As soon as she reached home, labor pains started again. After this he was again taken to the hospital.
Yashwant Meena, SDM Sapotra has said in his statement to the media that on the instructions of the District Collector, our team had reached Karanpur Hospital. RCHO Karauli, Block Chief Medical Officer Hindaun, Karauli and District Program Manager NHM together investigated in relation to the death of the child in the CHC. Whatever facts came out in the investigation, it was due to the negligence of the compounder and the doctors present at that time that the pregnant woman died. The investigation report has been sent to the District Collector.
