Roorkee: In the suspicious death of a Dalit, villagers accused him of murder, surrounded the police station

Team Jagran, Roorkee: Roorkee News: In the suspicious death of a Dalit youth in Belda village, villagers gheraoed the police station alleging murder. The villagers raised slogans. Villagers allege that Pankaj works at Mittal Tent House in Roorkee. On Monday night, he was going to the village after doing his work by bike.
During this, some people had parked a tractor trolley laden with cow dung on the way, when asked to remove it, they attacked it with sticks. In which he died. The villagers also alleged that an attempt was made to make the murder look like an accident and a tractor trolley was mounted on the bike. During the protest, the villagers kept demanding registration of murder case.
The villagers say that there are some powerful people of the village behind this. On the other hand, the police continued to pacify the villagers. The police have also seized the dung laden trolley. When the crowd increased in Kotwali, the police force was called from the nearby police stations. ASP Niharika Tomar kept trying to pacify the crowd.
Woman consumed pesticide
On the other hand, a married woman died in suspicious condition in Toda Ehtmal village of Civil Line Kotwali area. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the dead body into custody.
It has been told that the woman had consumed insecticide. The woman was married about six years ago. Dowry death is being suspected. The police have not yet received a complaint in this matter.
