Two Dalit men killed over land dispute in Gujarat’s Surendranagar

Two Dalit men were killed over an alleged land dispute in Gujarat’s Surendranagar on Wednesday evening, the police said.
According to the police, a group of people from non-Dalit community attacked brothers Aaljibhai Parmar and Manubhai Parmar with sharp-edged weapons.
The Parmar brothers, who were in their 50s and belonged to Samadhiyala village of Chuda tehsil, were rushed to a government hospital in Surendranagar where they died.
Surendranagar district Superintendent of Police Haresh Dudhat said the matter was connected to a land dispute between the deceased and the accused. Dudhat added that the accused in the case belong to the Kathi-Darbar community.
“The dispute was related to land between the two sides. There was a court matter in the case which we will look into later. Currently, the process is on to register an FIR,” Dudhat added.
