Andhra Pradesh. Three others, including a Dalit, were tied up and thrashed by a regional party leader on charges of stealing chicken in Eluru district. Not only this, the accused tried to cut the private part with pliers. The victims somehow managed to escape. The victims have complained to the police.

On July 25, at Thimmapuram in Dwarkathirumala mandal of Eluru district, three youths, including a Dalit, were caught and thrashed by YSRCP workers for stealing chicken. The incident came to light after the victims Muppina Suresh, Aratiktala Rambabu and the Dalit boy complained to the police last Friday evening.
According to the victims, they were taken to a garden where they were first abused. They were stripped of their clothes and abused. After this he was made to sit naked among the people. The thrashing was done with sticks and plastic pipes, which were witnessed by the people present there. Not only this, inappropriate words related to his caste were used for the Dalit youth. The vandalism of the miscreants crossed the limits when they tampered with the private parts of the three persons with a cutting plier (a tool with pliers or palas) and their hands were chopped off. After this incident Muppina Suresh and Aratiktala Rambabu decided to approach the police and lodged a complaint against the YSRCP workers. There itself, The victim of this incident, the Dalit youth complained about the incident to the police on Friday. The victims also told the police that the YSRCP leaders had tried to talk and compromise with the victims to avoid any police case. He also tried to speak on mobile phone through a public representative. However, the victims refused to settle after the brutality meted out to them.
Dwarkathirumala sub-inspector Sudheer told The Mooknayak Representative, “The victims were taken to Eluru district hospital for treatment and after being examined and treated by doctors, the case was processed. /ST atrocities case has been registered.”
UP: Dalit’s body found under suspicious circumstances, fear of murder

While the family alleges that their son has been murdered. Relatives say that many marks of injuries were found on Dharmaraj’s body. In this case, the police had sent the dead body for postmortem. It is alleged that after the post-mortem, late in the evening the police forcibly burnt the dead body. The Communist Party (ML) and the All India Farm and Rural Laborers’ Sabha (Khegrams) have opposed the police action on this incident. The officials have warned to gherao the tehsil on August 4.

On July 21, the dead body of a Dalit youth, Dharamraj, was found in suspicious condition in Sahira village under Lalganj police station area of Mirzapur district in UP, which after initial investigation was termed as suicide by the police.
On this incident, a joint six-member investigation team of the Communist Party (ML) and the All India Farm and Rural Mazdoor Sabha (Khegramas) under the leadership of Party State Secretary Sudhakar Yadav reached Sahira village on Saturday, 29 July and investigated the matter. The investigation team met the family members and villagers of the deceased Dharamraj. The officials expressed condolences to the family and inquired about the incident. After this visit, the leader of the investigation team, Male State Secretary Sudhakar Yadav released the investigation report and said that Dalit youth Dharamraj was murdered, but police and administration officials are trying to protect the criminals by terming it as suicide.
The investigation team alleges that the criminals who are supporters of the ruling party have a strong hold on them. The relatives told the team that instead of handing over the dead body to them after the postmortem of Dharamraj’s dead body, the evidence was forcibly destroyed by the administration in the dark of night. According to relatives, there were serious injury marks on the head and chest of the deceased. One of his eyes was gouged out. Both the legs were also broken by the killers and tortured. Falling from a height of five feet is not possible in this way, as is being told by the police administration, but the Lalganj police station in-charge is trying to save the murder accused by terming this murder as a suicide. No matter how much it is condemned, it is less. The relatives allege that the police did not register a murder report and the father of the deceased was manhandled.
Instead of handing over the dead body to the relatives, the station in-charge forced the police force to burn it at the cremation ground. The probe team demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident. Along with this, by registering a report of the murder case, arresting the killers and demanding punitive action against the Lalganj police station chief. Warned that if the relatives of the deceased do not get justice soon, the resistance struggle will be intensified. Member of the investigation team and National Vice President of Khegrams Jeera Bharti said that a demonstration will be held at Lalganj tehsil headquarters on August 4 demanding the arrest of Dalit Dharamraj’s killers.
Another member of the investigation team and Male District Secretary Ram Pyare Ram said that if the killers of the Dalit are not arrested and the station in-charge is not punished, then DM Mirzapur will be surrounded after 4th August. Apart from the above, the investigation team included Inqalabi Naujawan Sabha (Innaus) leader Amresh Bharti, Block Secretary Lalchand Kol and Durjan Manjhi.
