Chandan Gupta/Deoria: A network of roads is being laid all over the country, but no road leads to a Dalit colony in Deoria. It would be surprising to hear, but it is true. There are 125 Dalit families living in Bhaluani Nagar Panchayat of the district. There is no road to reach this settlement. There are fields of one or the other around this Dalit colony and the bunds built on those fields are the way for these people to come and go.
Various schemes are taken out for the Dalits by the government too, but the government-administration has not yet looked at this Dalit settlement. In this Nagar Panchayat of Deoria, this township is like an island, with no road around it. When it rains, the fields around this settlement get waterlogged. The view of the township looks like an island. Dalit families here are forced to come and go in the same water.
‘Farmers beat and beat’
When News18 Local talked to the Dalit families of this colony, they told that sometimes when they come out of someone’s farm, even the farmers beat them up. It is our compulsion that no government road has been given to this colony. The village head and other responsible people also did not find any solution for this.
Years old road construction problem
On the other hand, the current member told that he has taken this problem to the administration many times in writing. Responsible people come and leave after seeing, but the problem of the road has been going on like this for years. This Dalit colony is still waiting for the road for itself.
