The historic first Minority Rights March took place in Karachi on August 11, 2023, marking a significant step forward in the struggle for equal rights and dignity for religious minorities in Pakistan. People from all walks of life – Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis and others – marched together in solidarity to amplify their voice against ongoing discrimination and persecution.
The vibrant rally started at Frere Hall, with participants carrying banners and chanting passionate slogans calling for ‘one nation, equal citizens.’ Prominent minority rights activists addressed the charged crowds, underscoring the need to fulfill Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision of a progressive Pakistan where people of all faiths are treated with respect.
