Mathura: School CCTV Captures Teacher Sexually Assaulting Class-IX Dalit Girl; Accused Absconding

A school teacher in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura has been booked for sexually assaulting a Class-9 Dalit student. The entire incident of flashing was caught on a CCTV camera placed in the classroom.
The incident took place on November 6 while the complaint was registered on November 7. According to sources, several teams have been formed to nab the accused.
The accused had threatened the girl of dire consequences if she decided to lodge a complaint. A complaint in the case has been registered at Kosi Kalan police station in Mathura district.
According to a article in IANS, Trigun Bisen, SP (rural), Mathura, said: “On the basis of CCTV footage available and complaint lodged, a case has been registered under section 376 (sexual assault), 504 (provocation) and 506 (criminal intimidation), as well as under provisions of POCSO Act and SC/ST Act at Kosi Kalan police station in Mathura district.”
The Superintendent further added that the accused was an ad-hoc teacher, who belonged to the victim’s village. He, however, has been absconding ever since a case was registered.
