UP: Dalit girl molested on the pretext of giving lift, police confirmed the incident through CCTV and registered FIR
The youth made the girl sit in the car on the pretext of giving her a lift, then stopped the car on the way amidst dense fog. Both of them started committing obscenities in the car at gunpoint.

Uttar Pradesh. Police have registered an FIR in the case of molestation and assault of a Dalit girl on the pretext of giving lift in Saini area of Kaushambi district. The police have registered this FIR after the investigation done after the girl’s allegations and the CCTV footage found. It is alleged in the FIR that two youths made the girl sit in the car on the pretext of giving her a lift, then stopped the car on the way amidst dense fog. Both of them started committing obscenities in the car at gunpoint.
According to the victim, she suddenly got a phone call from the accused youth. After which he left her in the middle of the road and ran away. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against the accused under SC-ST section and other sections and started investigation.
The Dalit girl, resident of a village in Maheva Ghat police station area of Kaushambi district, had gone to the house of a relative. From where she was waiting back at the vehicle stand of Sirathu bypass. According to the FIR lodged at the police station, “A car stopped near the vehicle stand around 8 pm in the evening. His acquaintance boy Pawan was sitting in it. Pawan runs a copy book shop in Sirathu. Pawan asked the girl to drop her to her destination. Said about. Pawan himself made him sit in the car, saying that he was going to Manjhanpur. After going some distance, on the side of the road, Pawan took the name of the person driving the car, Hasan, and asked him to stop the car. Dense fog nearby. It was visible. Hasan held the girl’s hand and twisted it, while Pawan put a pistol on the girl’s head. Hasan started teasing and obscenely by twisting the girl’s hand. When she protested, Pawan abused her and killed her. Threatened to kill.”
Referring to the incident in the FIR, the girl said, “Pawan had received a call from an unknown person on his mobile. Due to this, Pawan got scared. After which both of them threw him down from the car and ran away. The victim somehow Reached her home. The victim says that she is very frightened by this incident. That is why she was afraid to complain to the police.”
Police registered FIR and started investigation
According to the FIR registered at Saini police station on 5th February, this incident took place on the night of 25th January. The police took the complaint and investigated the case on the basis of CCTV footage of the incident site. In the preliminary investigation of the police, footage of the girl sitting in a car has been found, on the basis of which the police have registered a case against two named youths. Police station in-charge Jai Chandra Sharma told The Mooknayak that, “On the basis of the girl’s complaint, the named youth Pawan and Hasan have been booked under sections 354 (a) (teasing) of IPC, 504, 506 (threatening), and SCST. A case has been registered under section 3(2)(va), 3(1)(d) and the allegations are being investigated. Medical and other action is being taken against the victim.”
