According to the information, during this time the head constable asked for tobacco from the teacher but the teacher refused. The teacher said that he did not have tobacco but still the head constable kept asking him for tobacco. Hearing the sound, the policemen on duty at the bus stand arrived and took the injured to the district hospital. Where the doctors declared the teacher dead.
Teachers staged a strike :
After this incident, all the teachers of the district boycotted the evaluation of answer sheets. Also started protesting on circular road. Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait also reached this incident and after this, protests started in many other places of the state also. On the demand of the teachers, Director of Secondary Education Dr. Mahendra Dev sent a letter to the administration for financial assistance, after which it was approved to give a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the victim’s family. After which all the teachers stopped the protest.
Is compensation of Rs 25 lakh enough ?
People are saying on social media that it seems that in Uttar Pradesh , even the compensation is being decided on the basis of caste . In Muzaffarnagar , a Dalit teacher was brutally murdered by the security guard deployed for his protection, who was given only Rs 25 lakh as compensation. When a similar incident happened in Lucknow, Rs 1 crore was given as compensation. Dalits will neither get proper compensation nor justice . This is the guarantee of the government in Uttar Pradesh.
