There was a fight between the two parties in Makhdumpur village after a dispute over Holi songs and desecration of the statue of Saint Shiromani Ravidas. What is the whole incident:
Actually, this whole matter is of Makhdumpur village of Khijarsarai police station area of Gaya, Bihar. On the occasion of Holi, on the evening of Tuesday 26th March, a fierce fight broke out between the two parties. In this incident, 5 people were seriously injured and two people were moderately injured. This incident created an atmosphere of tension in the village. As soon as information about the incident was received, SDPO along with other officers also reached the spot and pacified the matter.
Statement of Parshuram Das of Dalit community:
According to the information, people of Dalit community of Makhdumpur village were singing Holi at the site of the statue of Saint Shiromani Ravidas located near the Devi Temple. At the same time, people from the other party also came to sing Holi and started stopping the people of Dalit community from singing Holi and an argument started between the two parties on this issue. Parshuram Das of the Dalit community told that the bullies of Makhdumpur village destroyed the statue of Saint Shiromani with weapons and swords. When the Dalit community protested against this, the bullies beat them fiercely. The bullies also beat up the women.
The injured were taken to hospital:
Parshuram Das, Santosh Das, Munnu Das, Shambhu Das and Krishna Das were seriously injured in this incident. According to the information, a woman named Rupi Devi was referred to Gaya late on Tuesday night after treatment in CHC. Rajkumar Das and Bablu Kumar were treated in a private clinic.
Statement of SDPO Prakash Kumar:
According to the report of Dainik Bhaskar, SDPO Prakash Kumar said in his statement that there was a fight between the two parties in Makhdumpur village after a dispute regarding Holi songs and desecration of the statue of Saint Shiromani Ravidas. After which an atmosphere of tension was created in the village. A police team was also deployed to keep the situation normal in the village, after which the atmosphere in the village is calm. Regarding this incident, SDPO Prakash Kumar further said that Parmeshwar Das, a resident of Makhdumpur village, has also lodged a written complaint in the police station regarding this incident. In this complaint, an FIR has been registered against 17 people of Makhdumpur village. In this case, the police have arrested Saroj Singh and Ankit Kumar of Makhdumpur village.
