Uttar Pradesh: Dalit teenager accused of theft, tied to pole and beaten, video goes viral
A case was registered under SC/ST on the complaint of the teenager’s father.

Hardoi. In a private workshop in the rural area of Hardoi district of UP, a Dalit teenager was tied to a pole and brutally beaten. A video of this incident is also going viral on social media. According to the information, the teenager was accused of theft and beaten and a video was also made. In this case, the police have registered a case under the sections of SC/ST Act on the complaint of the victim’s father.
In fact, in a workshop in Mahendrapur of Dehat police station area of Hardoi district, some people are beating a teenager after tying him to a pole. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, the police have taken cognizance of it. In this case, Additional Superintendent of Police East Nripendra Kumar told The Mooknayak – “A video is going viral on social media in which some people are beating a minor child after tying him to a pole. A written complaint has been taken from the victim, on the basis of which strict action will be taken against the accused.”
What is in the viral video?
A teenager has been tied to a pole in the workshop. A young man is beating him with a plank. According to the information, the teenager was caught on charges of theft. He was taken inside the workshop where he was tied to a pole with a rope and was stripped half naked and beaten brutally.
The Mooknayak contacted the local police regarding the incident. The station in-charge told The Mooknayak- ‘In the investigation, the video was found to be from Mahendra Nagar. The victim is a resident of Om Nagar. The teenager was accused of theft and beaten up. On the complaint of the victim’s father, the police have registered a case crime number 277/2024. This case includes sections 342, 323, 504, 506 of the IPC and the SC / ST Act. The police is searching for the accused.’
Two incidents had happened earlier also
A week ago, two cases of Dalit teenagers being beaten up were reported in Hardoi district of UP. One incident was of May 3, 2024 and the other incident was of May 6, 2024. In one case, the teenager was held hostage and beaten up and a video of the incident was made. The video of this also went viral on social media. Both the cases were from Pali police station area of Hardoi district. Police had registered FIR in both the cases.
