Dalit youth beaten with kicks and punches, then urinated on his face, video goes viral

Posted on October 3, 2024 by Dalit Times

In UP, a Dalit youth was beaten up by goons and then urinated on his face. After the video of this incident went viral, the police arrested the main accused. The investigation into the case is ongoing.

An incident that has shamed humanity has come to light in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, in which a Dalit youth was not only beaten up, but also urinated on his face in an inhumane torture. This incident is from Chilkadaar village of Shaktinagar police station area, where some rowdy youths surrounded a youth named Pawan Kharwar and committed this heinous act. The video of this entire incident went viral on social media on Wednesday, after which the police came into action and the main accused has been arrested.

this is the matter

On the evening of September 26, Ankit Bharti and his associates surrounded Pawan Kharwar near barrier number one. First they beat Pawan brutally, then one of the youths urinated on his face. During this time, the other youths not only stood and watched this disgusting act, but also kept making a video of it. In the video, Pawan’s shirt is seen soaked in blood and he is sitting on the ground, while a youth is urinating on him.

Police action

After the video went viral, the police took immediate action and arrested the main accused Ankit Bharti. Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh said that the police is investigating the matter deeply and other accused will also be arrested soon. He said that a case has been registered under stringent sections regarding this incident, and the safety of the victim Pawan Kharwar is also being ensured.

Treatment of injured Pawan

After the incident, Pawan Kharwar went to Baidhan in Madhya Pradesh with his brother Shiv Kumar, where he was undergoing treatment. When he returned to Shaktinagar on Wednesday, his brother Shiv Kumar informed the police officials and the Chief Minister’s Office about the incident through a tweet. The police took immediate action and inquired about the matter from Pawan and his brother and assured strict action against the culprits.

seeking justice

This incident is another link in the caste discrimination and oppression prevalent in the society. Dalit society and social activists have strongly condemned this inhuman act and demanded the strictest punishment against the culprits. This case has once again highlighted that caste discrimination and oppression are still deeply ingrained in the society, and strict action and justice is required in such cases.

Anger in society

After the incident, people’s anger has erupted on social media. Many social organizations and political leaders have also condemned this incident and demanded immediate justice from the government. There is also a need for strict laws and awareness campaigns to end caste discrimination prevalent in the society, so that such heinous crimes do not recur.

Would Pawan get justice?

However, the question arises that if this video had not gone viral, would Pawan have got justice? Would the administration have taken action so quickly? This incident is a horrific example of caste discrimination prevalent in the society, where even today Dalits are humiliated and tortured on the basis of their caste. The story of Pawan Kharwar is not the story of one person’s suffering and struggle, it is the story of the entire Dalit community which has been fighting for equality and respect for centuries. This incident has once again proved how deep the roots of casteism are in the society, and until the thinking of the society does not change, such inhuman acts will continue to happen.
