Madhya Pradesh: SC Congress surrounded IG office in Rewa, protested demanding arrest of accused of raping Dalit woman

Pradeep Ahirwar launched a scathing attack on the BJP government and said that the government’s ‘Amrit Kaal’ is actually proving to be a period of fear and atrocities for Dalits and tribals.

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Congress Scheduled Caste Department State President Pradeep Ahirwar on Thursday gheraoed the office of Inspector General of Police in Rewa and protested against the atrocities being committed on Dalits in the state and demanded the arrest of the accused of raping a Dalit woman in Rewa district. Ahirwar raised questions on the police administration and said that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated and incidents of atrocities against Dalits are increasing continuously.
The main objective of the protest was to ensure the immediate arrest of the accused of raping a woman in Rewa district. Ahirwar alleged that the police administration was not working seriously in this case and was being negligent in providing justice to the victim. He said, “This is an example of injustice being done to the Dalit community. We will not sit quiet until the accused is arrested.”
Ahirwar made serious allegations against the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh government and said that the incidents of atrocities on Dalits and tribals are increasing continuously in the state. He said, “In Sidhi district, a tribal person’s face was urinated upon, in Singrauli, he was shot by a BJP leader and killed by running a tractor over him. It is clear from these incidents that jungle raj has come in the state.”
He further said, “In various parts of the state, Dalits are being stripped and beaten, and heinous crimes like rape are taking place against small girls and elderly women. The fear of police has vanished from the hearts of people, due to which the morale of criminals is high.”
Increasing crime in BJP’s ‘Amrit Kaal’!
Pradeep Ahirwar launched a scathing attack on the BJP government and said that the government’s ‘Amrit Kaal’ is actually proving to be a period of fear and atrocities for Dalits and tribals. “The government’s policies and administrative failures are creating unbearable conditions for the Dalit community. In such a situation, it has become necessary for the Dalit community to take to the streets to get justice,” he said.
A large number of people participated in the demonstration
A large number of people from the Scheduled Caste community participated in this siege and raised slogans against the government and the administration. The protesters sat in front of the Rewa Police Inspector General’s Office (IG Office) and demanded the arrest of the accused and a ban on atrocities against the Dalit community.
The protesters said that if the accused is not arrested soon and the Dalit community does not get justice, then their movement will be intensified further.
Question on police action
Pradeep Ahirwar also raised questions on the role of the police administration and said that law and order has completely collapsed. He said that the police is proving unsuccessful in taking action against criminals, due to which the morale of criminals is increasing in the state. He demanded from the Inspector General of Police to arrest the accused immediately and provide justice to the victims.

The SC Congress workers involved in the protest demanded that if appropriate action is not taken in this matter, they will further intensify the movement across the state. The protesters told the administration that they are ready to take every possible step for the rights and security of the Dalit community.
Concern over rising crimes in the state
Pradeep Ahirwar expressed deep concern over the increasing crime in the state and said that the state government is giving a free hand to the criminals. He said, “Incidents like rape of small girls and elderly women are happening, but the administration and the government are acting as mute spectators. In such a situation, the public is forced to take to the streets to get justice.”
