Uttar Pradesh: A case of beating and inhuman treatment of three Dalit children on suspicion of theft has come to light in Bahraich district. The miscreants shaved their heads, smeared their faces with soot and wrote ‘thief’ on their heads and faces. Not only this, they tied the hands of the minors and paraded them around the village. The children kept begging to be let go, but the accused did not let them go. Nor did anyone from the village dare to save them.
The whole case is from Tajpur Tedia village of Kotwali Nanpara. Police have arrested 3 accused in this case.
Actually, Gandasa and wheat were stolen from the farm house of Nazim, a resident of Tajpur Tedia village . He called his friends Qasim and Inayat to the farm house. It is alleged that on suspicion of theft, 3 children of the village were forcibly picked up and taken to the poultry farm house. They were beaten with kicks and punches. Then the hands of all three were tied with a rope.
The children’s faces were smeared with soot. Half of their heads were shaved. Then they were paraded around the village. As soon as the information was received, the children’s family members reached there. With folded hands, they rescued the children from the clutches of the bullies. The children’s age is said to be between 10 and 14 years.

The children’s family members said that the children had worked at the poultry farm for a year. They had left the job 5 days ago. Angered by this, the operators falsely accused the children of theft and committed the crime against them.
Circle Officer (CO) Nanpara Praduman Singh said, “A case has been registered under SC-ST on the complaint of the family members. All three accused have been arrested and sent to jail.”
