Locals said that on hearing the woman’s screams, people from the vicinity rushed to the spot and somehow saved her. The injured woman was immediately taken to the hospital, where her condition remains critical.

After the incident, the victim woman lodged a complaint at the police station, but the police have not taken any concrete action against the accused till now. The villagers alleged that the police are trying to suppress the case because the accused are relatives of the village head.
