Body of a teenage girl found floating on Purbachal lake

An unidentified body of a teenage girl was recovered from a lake in Purbachal area of Narayanganj’s Rupganj this morning.
Locals found the body around 8:00am at the waterbody adjacent to the 300 feet road at Purbachal’s sector-2.
The girl was around 17 years old. A helmet and a purse were also recovered from the spot, said Liaqat Ali, officer-in-charge of Rupganj Police Station.
“The victim’s neck and face bore injury marks. We suspect she was killed last night. The cause of death will be determined following an autopsy,” the OC said, adding that the body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital.
