Arrested for assaulting police officer

11 Feb, 2025 Kathmandu – Nepal Police has taken two people into custody on charges of misbehaving with its personnel on regular patrol. On Magh 24, they had assaulted a police officer while trying to persuade him to surrender in Thamel, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26.
Dinesh Sigdel of Taplejung and Ramesh Phulara of Dadeldhura were arrested near the Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday, Magh 10, informed Superintendent of Police Appel Raj Bohara, Information Officer of the District Police Range, Kathmandu. They had also vandalized a police motorcycle that was on patrol.
The police have said that the two arrested persons have been remanded for five days by the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, for the offence of indecent behaviour and are being investigated. They have been kept in custody at the Durbarmarg Police Circle and further investigation is underway.
