Teacher sent to jail over sexual harassment

A teacher was sent to jail yesterday after being arrested on charges of sexually harassing a class 10 student in Magura.

The arrestee is Alok Kumar Maulik, 55, a teacher of a local school, said police.

On Friday, the victim’s mother filed a complaint with Magura Sadar Police Station, said its Officer-in-Charge Md Ayub Ali.

Police arrested Alok on Saturday night.

According to the complaint, the teacher sexually harassed her when she went to his house for tuition on April 7.
