Man gets life term for rape

A Chattogram court yesterday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping a girl in the district’s Fatickchhari upazila in 2013.
The convict, Khokon Uddin, was sent to jail after Judge Ferdous Ara of Chattogram Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 delivered the verdict.
The court found him guilty beyond doubt by examining evidence, and testimonies of seven witnesses. According to case documents, Khokon raped the 16-year-old girl on May 9, 2023. Later, the victim’s father filed a case.
