Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. The atrocities in the name of caste in the country are not stopping. Another shameful incident has come to light from Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh, where a Dalit youth was brutally beaten up over a minor issue. This incident is said to have happened on September 2, when a small road accident took a violent turn.
According to the information, the victim Aditya Kumar was going somewhere on his motorcycle. During this time, his bike accidentally touched the car of Krishna Patel, a resident of Bairagi Purva village. Krishna Patel and his companions lost their temper over this minor issue. They stopped Aditya in the middle of the road and attacked him. The accused not only hit Aditya several times on the head, but also publicly humiliated him by using caste-related abuses.
Aditya Kumar was seriously injured in this brutal attack and his head started bleeding. Seeing him in this condition, the villagers nearby immediately came forward to help and admitted him to the nearest community health center, where he is undergoing treatment.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim Aditya Kumar, the local police have registered a case and started investigation.
This incident is another painful link in the violence against Dalits in India. Despite all the government laws and claims of legal protection, heartbreaking news of violence, discrimination, sexual harassment and social boycott against people of the Dalit community keep coming from different corners of the country.
Recently, an innocent 8-year-old Dalit child was hung upside down from a tree in Rajasthan just because he touched a water pot. The child was first made to clean toilets and collect garbage, and when he finished his work and asked for water to drink, he was attacked. These incidents reveal the bitter truth of caste hatred that has deeply penetrated the society.
