Chennai: A very shameful and heartbreaking incident has come to light from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, where a 17-year-old Dalit teenager was treated inhumanly. This teenager, who had gone to meet his friend, was not only brutally beaten, but he was also stripped naked and abused with casteist slurs. In this case, the Secretariat Colony Police has arrested two people on Friday, September 12, one of whom is said to be a former BJP official.
What is the whole matter?
According to a report by The News Minute , the police informed that the arrested accused have been identified as Saravanan and his brother Logesh. According to reports, Saravanan is a former functionary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The entire incident took place when the victim teenager had gone to meet a friend at her relative’s house. The girl’s relatives locked the boy in a room and then called Saravanan to intervene in the matter.
The victim boy belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC) Hindu Adi Dravida community, while the girl belongs to the Most Backward Class (MBC) Vanniyar community. Both were friends for many years. Later, both of them went to different schools, but they were connected with each other through social media.
The accused crossed the limits of cruelty
It is alleged that when the boy went to meet his friend, Sarvanaan and Logesh caught him. They first took off the clothes of the teenager and then beat him brutally. Police also said that during the attack, Sarvanaan used casteist words for the victim and insulted him. The teenager, who was seriously injured in the attack, is currently undergoing treatment at Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) Hospital.
