Amit Kumar, son of Devendra Kumar, a resident of Nagla Jor village in the area, stated that he belongs to the Scheduled Caste. On the evening of October 19th, he was traveling from his village to Chibramau to pick up his sister. On the way, he stopped to drink water from a hand pump. A young man from Asalat Nagar became angry at his drinking, hurled casteist slurs at him, hit him on the head with a brick, and then assaulted him, injuring him.
Heard of the commotion, several people came to his rescue. The accused threatened to shoot him when the government arrived. The victim went to the police station and filed a complaint with the police. Inspector-in-Charge Vishnukant Tiwari stated that the matter is being investigated.
