Accused of daughter, murder of a Dalit during the celebration of victory in Gujarat civic elections – beaten up the whole family

Celebrating victory after the results of the civic elections in Gujarat, a Dalit was killed. A Dalit man was killed on Tuesday by some people allegedly involved in celebrating the Congress candidate’s victory in Sanodar village of Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The results of the elections held on Sunday for local bodies in the state were announced on Tuesday.
Dinesh Kodiyatar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bhavnagar SC / ST Cell said that the deceased was named Amarbhai Boricha (50) and was a resident of Sanodar in Ghogha taluka. He said that he died during treatment in the hospital. The Deputy Superintendent said that the process of lodging FIR is on.
Boricha’s daughter Nirmala, who was injured in the attack, told reporters that the procession held in celebration of the victory was allegedly headed by Vanraj Singh Gohil, whose wife Manisha Ghogha won from the Sanodar seat in Taluka Panchachat on a Congress ticket.
Nirmala said, ‘Our family is the only Dalit in the village. While the procession was going, stones were thrown and the crowd entered our house and beat my father and family. Those people attacked my father with a sword which led to his death. I was also hurt.
