- Operation Equality to stop the incidents of taking down Dalit grooms from the mare
- Most of the opposition in the village itself, so the whole society was connected
Dinesh Sharma | The Bundi police and administration have started Operation Samata in the district to prevent incidents of Dalit grooms not being allowed to board or take off the mare. If the innovation is successful then it can be implemented across the state. There are still such villages in the district, where even after 75 years of independence, there was a dispute if the Dalit groom did not sit on the mare or sat.
Even if the father of a Dalit girl tries to make the groom sit on a horse under police protection on the insistence of the groom’s side or the family’s wishes, then the girl’s family has to face the treatment of being ostracized in their village. In such a situation, Dalit families do not want to create enmity in the village. The police have surveyed such villages in the district, where such apprehensions may be there. Operation Samata will start from Chadi village of Kepatan from Monday. The daughter of Meghwal family is getting married in the village. The procession will come from Bakshpura Talera. With the bandwagon, the groom will take out the binduri by sitting on the mare. Collector Renu Jaipal, along with SP Jai Yadav, Sarpanch and all the people of Panchayat’s community will welcome the procession with garlands, flowers and give gifts to the bride and groom.
If the initiative is successful, it will be implemented in the state } Negchachar going on in the marriage house in Chadi village, there is no dispute in the village
