Rajasthan: Congress MLA accused of assaulting electricity department officials, case registered under SC-ST Act
Victim Harshadapati told the police that a colleague of the MLA had pointed a country-made pistol at him. Taking action in the matter, the police have also imposed SC-ST Act including several sections. The MLA has denied the allegations of assault.
What was the whole matter?
According to the victim, the incident is of last Monday – he was preparing files with the staff in his office for recovery of dues. At the same time, Bari MLA Girraj Singh Malinga and his companions entered the office. As soon as MLA Malinga came, he hit a chair on his head and also abused casteist.
Victims tell The Mooknayak that the MLA threatened them with the matter of unloading the transformer from Mahua Kheda village and also beat them with sticks. “A person accompanying the MLA had also pointed a country-made pistol at him”, the victim has recorded in her statement. He also told in the FIR that, the MLA also put his foot on the neck of his partner and also abused casteist. In this, both the victims have suffered serious injuries, at present both the officers are undergoing treatment at the hospital in Agra.
MLAs who have been in controversies before
Congress MLA from Bari in Dholpur district Girraj Singh Malinga has a long history of controversies. Earlier, MLA Malinga had come into the limelight when he accused Bharatpur range IG Laxman Gaur of colluding with the gravel mafia. However, the MLA has denied any allegation of assault in this case. MLA Malinga said that all the allegations leveled against me are baseless. I myself reached the spot as soon as I got the news of the assault between the two officers. On the other hand, State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also given his reaction on the matter and said that appropriate action will be taken against the guilty in the case.
