In the past few days, cases of theft were reported at 10 places including Panchayat Ghar in village Pawa of Srinagar police station area of the district. In this, the police caught Bharat Rajput on the basis of suspicion and took him to the police station. It is alleged that for interrogation about the theft, the young man was tortured in a third degree and beaten up in an inhuman manner. The police beat him so mercilessly that his condition became fatal. When the condition of the young man deteriorated, the hands of the police swelled. Police station in-charge Anil Kumar took him to the district hospital for treatment without informing the family, where the doctor referred him as his condition was critical.

He has been admitted to Kanpur for treatment, where his condition is said to be fine. Action has been taken against 4 police personnel including the station in-charge for negligence in this matter.
