Zahidur Rahman Tariq, Jhenaidah: Two people have been killed in a clash between two groups of the Awami League over the collection of toll money in Kotchandpur Municipality of Jhenaidah. 4 more people were injured. The incident took place at Chougachha bus stand in Kotchandpur on Thursday afternoon. It was learned at the spot that the clash took place at the Chaugachha bus stand in Kotchandpur centered around the toll collection at the raw market. 4 people were injured in this.
The locals rescued them and brought them to Kotchandpur Health Complex. The doctor on duty at Kotchandpur Hospital declared Jiban Hossain (22) dead. He is the son of late Firoz Hossain of Talmil Para. 3 suspects were referred to Jessore Hospital. Meanwhile, Akhter Hossain died on the way. He is the son of Babu Taleb of Elangi village.
Israt Jerin, a doctor on duty at the hospital, said four people were injured. One of them died on the way. The rest have been referred to Jessore 250-bed hospital as their condition is critical. Among them is Sohag Hossain, son of Daud Hossain of Salemanpur Pukur Para of Kotchandpur Municipal Council.
Besides, Sabbir Hossain, son of Nazir Malita of Kotchandpur Municipal Council is also present. In this regard, the officer-in-charge of Kotchandpur Police Station Md. Moin Uddin admitted the truth of the incident and said that the incident took place at the center to collect money from the municipal toll of Kotchandpur Municipality.
