The dead body of a Dalit was lying in the house for hours after the death, the rioters did not give way for the funeral procession

The dead body of the Dalit man was lying in the house for hours. After the intervention of the local administration, the road was finally opened and the body of the Dalit man could be taken to the cremation ground.

Chhapra (Saran). A shocking incident has come to the fore in Bihar. The rioters did not allow the dead body of a Dalit to come out for hours. It is alleged that the rioters had blocked the way in retaliation, due to which the funeral procession of the Dalit could not take place for hours. The aggrieved party had given a complaint to the police in this regard, but no action was taken. After this, the Dalits informed the top officials by calling from their mobile phones. After this the local administration swung into action and reached the spot and normalized the situation. However, in view of the tension, a large number of security forces have been deployed so that no untoward incident takes place.
According to the information, this case of Dambagai is of Gadkha of Chhapra. After the death of a person in the Mahadalit settlement here, his body had to be kept in the village for several hours, because the gangsters had blocked the way for the funeral procession. Later the road was opened after the intervention of the district administration. After the intervention of the administration, the funeral procession took place and the last rites of the person could be done. The matter is of a dispute between both the parties, regarding which a case has been registered in the police station. Angered by the registration of the case by the Mahadalits, the rioters blocked their way and the dead body was lying in the village for hours. In fact, Dalits have filed a case under sections of the Scheduled Caste-Scheduled Tribe (SC-ST) Prevention of Atrocities Act.

Deployment of police in large numbers
This case is of Narayanpur Mahadalit Basti of Garkha. There is tension in the village after this incident, after which the police is camping in the village. It is being told that Kishun Ram of Narayanpur Mahadalit Basti died at 4 pm on Thursday, after getting the information of which the rioters closed the road to prevent the funeral procession. On this, Arjun Ram, the son of the deceased, has applied in the Garkha police station. About 2 hours after the complaint, he went to the village and completed his quorum, but did not make any effort to get the funeral procession out of the settlement. On this, on Friday, the people of the village called the District Magistrate and Sadar SDM and informed about the incident. Due to this the administration came into a tizzy and the Gadkha police station and the circle officer tried to take out the funeral procession by going to the village. The dead body was taken out of the village and taken to the cremation ground at around 11 o’clock on Friday.
Dispute of paths for 7 months
Narayanpur Mahadalit Basti has been in dispute regarding the way for about 7 months. The people of the surrounding settlements of the village have blocked the path of the Dalits. There was a fight on 23 September 2021, in which about half a dozen people were injured. Under the Scheduled Caste Atrocities Prevention Act, case number 656 dated 23 September 2021 is registered in Gadkha police station. In this case, the police arrested 2 people and sent them to jail and 9 accused surrendered in the behavioral court. After getting out of jail, all the accused got angry and completely blocked the way around the Mahadalit settlement.
