Jamtara: Families of five Dalit victims troubled by Dambai are compelled to stage a sit-in. Sitting on an indefinite dharna on the side of the road for 3 days, he is pleading for justice. But there is no one to take care of them. Giving a protest against the domineering, he has accused of occupying the land. He has accused the Dabang Ramzan Mian of the area of eviction from his land. He has demanded action from the administration against him.
The dharna of the Dalit family of Chirudih village of Jamtara is going on for three days. The family members along with their small children are sitting on an indefinite dharna near the subdivision office. The women protesting say that they are demanding to get back their 7 acres of 20 decimil land and arrest the accused soon. They will sit on dharna till action is not taken.
What is the whole matter: It is said that 14 months ago, the Dalit family was evicted from the land by the gangsters of the village (the woman named Ramzan Mian) from the land and they were driven away. The victims’ families came on the road and after a lot of agitation, these families were given assurances by the administration and they were taken to their homes. It was said from the administration that the responsibility of complete security will be taken and all the papers which are 7 acres of land will be given back. Also, action will be taken against the accused. A case has also been registered by the family against the bullies in the SC ST police station, but till date no arrest has been made.
14 months passed after taking a sip of assurance, neither their land was returned nor any action was taken against the accused. The result of this is that today the Dalit family is not able to do farming on their land. The members of the victim’s family say that they are again being intimidated by the bullies of the village and they are not being allowed to do farming. The assurance given by the administration that justice will be done, nothing has happened so far.
