Lucknow : Zomato got an order in Ashiana area. As soon as the order was received, Vineet Kumar Rawat was tasked to deliver it. Vineet reached the house of a youth resident of Sector-H with a packet of food. As soon as the door opened there, the person who came out asked him his name. On hearing the name, he refused to take food. Said that we will not take food touched by the hand of a Dalit. On protesting, the delivery boy was thrashed together with his colleagues. The victim lodged a complaint at Ashiana police station. On which the police have registered a case against two named and 12 unknown. The investigation of the matter has been started.
Vineet Kumar Rawat, the Inspector-in-Charge, lives with his family in Ashiana Qila Mohammadi village. He works as an AC plantation in a courier company. At the same time, Zomato also does the work of online order home delivery. According to Vineet, on Saturday night, the message of delivery of Zomato’s order number 4129487231 came. This order was to be delivered at the house of Ajay Singh, a resident of Sector-H.

According to Vineet, he reached Ajay Singh’s house with the order packet at night. When called there, a young man came out. He asked the name of the delivery boy before taking the packet. On this he named his name as Vineet Kumar Rawat. On hearing the name, the person standing at the door started abusing. Said that we will not take the things touched by the hands of Dalits. Opposing this, Vineet said that you have an order. If you want to take, take it, otherwise cancel the order. On this the young man who came to take delivery got angry.
Tobacco spit in the mouth
It is alleged that as soon as he was told about canceling the order, the young man who came to collect the packet got agitated. He spit the tobacco in his mouth on Vineet’s face. When Vineet opposed this, 12 other people present inside the house also came out. After this started beating with sticks and sticks. Somehow he escaped from there to save his life. Then informed the police control room.
When PRV reached the spot, he got the bike. The victim lodged a complaint against Ajay Singh, Abhay Singh and 12 others at the Ashiana police station. According to Inspector-in-Charge Deepak Kumar Pandey, on the complaint of the victim, a case has been registered against the accused under several sections including SC, ST Act, assault, rebellion, intimidation. Raids are being conducted in search of the accused.
