Lucknow: Law student attacked with machete by batchmate in classroom over ‘love triangle’
Lucknow crime news: The law student Chandra Bhushan Bhardwaj was attacked with a machete from behind by his classmate Sudhanshu Shekhar for allegedly talking to the girl friend of the accused.

Lucknow: In a horrific incident reported from Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, a law student was critically injured after he was attacked with a machete by his batchmate inside the university classroom. The incident caused a panic on the private university campus. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Chandra Bhushan Bhardwaj, a native of Varanasi
The accused was later overpowered by other students and handed over to police. The victim was immediately rushed to KGMU trauma centre with severe injuries inflicted by the sharp edged weapon. The accused has been identified as Sudhanshu Shekhar (27). He is from Chandauli.
It is alleged that the attack on Chandra was said to be the fallout of a ‘love affair’, according to a report in Times of India. The victim was operated upon at KGMU where his vital organs are said to be safe, said doctors.
Police said Chandra was attacked by his rival Sudhanshu when the class was about to get over. The victim was attacked from behind by the accused.
Chandra’s friend Animesh Kumar told police that Sudhanshu was carrying the machete in his bag. He said Sudhanshu attacked the victim before he could react. Chandra suffered injuries in neck, head and hands.
Anup Kumar Singh, ACP (Vibhuti Khand), said the scene was very scary in the classroom as students ran out of the class screaming from help.
Police said Sudhanshu was having a friendship with a girl who also started talking to Chandra Bhushan. And this did not go down well with Sudhanshu who decided to teach Chandra a lesson.
