Uttar Pradesh: No electricity connection in primary school for 11 years, innocent forced to study in the dark!

Lucknow. The primary schools of BKT development block of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, are facing lack of basic facilities. Many schools have not had electricity connections for years, due to which innocent children are forced to study in the dark. There is also not enough supply of books. Due to this, children are not able to study the course. The surprising thing is that even the Basic Education Officer is not aware of this. The Mooknayak team explores the facilities available to children at Bhaktakheda Primary School in Aldampur, BKT, here is the ground report.

Bhaktakheda Primary School is located in Aldampur of Bakshi Ka Talab. The school building was constructed in 2010. Till now 12 years have passed since the construction of the school. This school is not getting electricity connection. Due to no electricity, school children are forced to study in dark rooms and heat.

Could not find electrical connection

Somehow in 2019, 8 years after the construction of the primary school of Bhaktakheda, the initiative for electricity connection was taken. The file continued to be prepared throughout the year. In 2020, electricity connection slip of Rs 118 was cut. For this also the school had to pay 1500 rupees on receipt of 118.

only half the books could reach

The academic session of the children starts from the month of April. The order to buy the books was issued in June. Still only half the books have reached the school. In the month of September, the session examination of the children is also to be held. It is proving difficult for teachers to teach children without books.

There are two female teachers posted in the school. There is a temple platform outside the school. On this, some chaotic elements sit and sneeze on the women teachers. Women teachers say, “Some things have to be overlooked in rural areas. It is not possible to oppose everything.

Somerable closed due to lack of electricity

Due to lack of electricity connection in the primary school, there is also a shortage of drinking water. Children and teachers have to fill water from hand pumps only. Along with this, water for defecation also has to be carried by hand pump. It is also inconvenient to wash the utensils of the children’s mid-day meal. Here, Basic Education Officer, Lucknow, Arun Kumar has ordered an inquiry into the entire matter.
