Suspicious death of 2 Dalit girl students in the hostel in Bhuvanagiri, Telangana, injury marks on the body – family made serious allegations against the hostel warden

 February 6, 2024 AuthorDalit Times

The family members allege that after torturing our girls, the warden and his associates killed them and to make it a suicide by the hostel management, they prepared fake suicide notes and hanged their bodies…

Bhuvanagiri News: In Bhuvanagiri, Tamil Nadu, the bodies of two Dalit girl students Kodi Bhavya and Gade Vaishnavi were found hanging in suspicious condition from the hostel room. Family members allege that the hostel warden and her lover were seen in a suspicious condition by these girl students, after which they were killed. Both of them are around 15 years of age and apart from being 10th class students, they were also good friends. There were injury marks on the bodies of both the girl students. The family members are alleging that they were continuously harassed by the hostel warden and others. Police have registered a case against the hostel warden and 5 other people in this case. Police estimate that both the girl students may have died on Saturday, February 3.

According to the report published in Newstap, after the death of two girls of Dalit hostel in Bhuvanagiri, bite marks and injuries were found on their bodies. Police have registered a case against Warden Shailja and five others. A case has been registered under sections of CrPC 174 against autorickshaw driver Anjaneyulu, hostel warden’s alleged lover, hostel cooks Sujatha and Sulochana, PT teacher Pratibha and tuition teacher Bhuvaneshwari.

The family members allege that after the death of both the girls, the hostel management prepared a fake suicide note to declare it a suicide and hanged their bodies. The management kept trying to convince us that it was suicide and not murder, but the injury marks on the bodies of the girl students revealed the real story. After the death, although the hostel management told the police and the family that a suicide note had been recovered, the family did not believe it. After the case of death of Dalit girl students came to light, SC Kalyan Hostel and some other student organizations protested in front of the hostel demanding justice.

The girls’ family alleged that the warden and her lover auto driver killed the girls because they saw them in objectionable positions. She allegedly threw away the suicide note written by the girls in the dustbin, praising her for exonerating the warden and being the only woman who listened to them. Family members allege that the handwriting of the suicide note does not match the handwriting of our daughters.

When the police interrogated strictly after the allegations of the family members and the protests of the students, the role of the lady warden Shailja and the autorickshaw driver in this death case appeared suspicious. The tuition teacher to whom the two girls were to study on the evening of Friday 2 February, two cooks who would have assisted the warden, and others who accompanied the girls were arrested on suspicion. The postmortem report of the girls is yet to come, in which the real cause of death will be revealed.

Speaking to the media, Bhuvanagiri DCP M Rajesh Chandra says the police are investigating the cases as suspicious deaths, and the preliminary report of the postmortem does not confirm any use of force or rape on the girls. Viscera and forensic reports also need to be analyzed. Many marks are visible on the body. The parents did not register the case immediately. Suspicious people are being interrogated in this case.
